Maps in GIS are dynamic, allowing layers to be shown or hidden based on your task. Map themes save and store distinct layer visibility configurations and symbology styles for quick switching.

Workflow

1. Style your map canvas and layer visibilities in QGIS according to your project requirements.
2. Save the view configuration as a named map theme in the QGIS Layers panel.
3. Transfer or synchronize the project to your mobile device.

If you defined map themes in QGIS, switch between them directly in QField using the Side Dashboard.

Workflow

1. Open the Side Dashboard.
2. Tap the Map themes dropdown menu.
3. Select your desired active theme to update the map canvas.
